Hannah shot this 5x5 bull opening morning with a 50 caliber muzzle-loader at about 35 yards. We had set up in a likely spot and started calling at first light. This bull would talk to us but he would not come in, so we moved up to put some pressure on him. While making our second move we spotted him ahead of us in the timber, but he still wouldn’t come to calls. Hannah moved up a little more, only to come face to face with him. After several minutes of staring at each other, the bull spun to his right to leave and Hannah, with rifle already at the shoulder, placed a perfect shot through the heart and lungs. |
